  • Developed a toy robot designed to introduce children to programming fundamentals through an interactive app.

  • Led design development including form exploration, 3D modeling, CMF strategy, prototyping, UI integration, and user testing to refine the physical and digital experience ensuring learning was both intuitive and fun.

  • Collaboration with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to develop custom movements.

  • Researched educational trends to ensure product was both engaging and developmentally appropriate.

Children’s Coding Robot, Learning Through Play

The Spark:
We weren’t just designing a toy, we were designing a child’s first experience with coding. The goal was to turn logic into something kids could touch, guide, and feel proud of mastering.

The Challenge:
How do you make programming tactile and joyful for kids, without overwhelming them, and make parents trust the product enough to bring it into their homes?

The Journey:
I led the industrial design development from the ground up, shaping a personality driven robot that felt friendly, simple, and alive. Using sketching and 3D modeling, I explored expressive silhouettes and intuitive interactions. Every bump, light, and surface was considered to balance engagement and manufacturability. I worked closely with UX, app teams, and engineering to ensure the physical and digital experience felt seamless.

The Impact:
The result was a product that empowered kids to explore cause and effect through movement, color, and connection. It didn’t teach code through text, it taught code through play, building confidence with every interaction.
