The Weeknd - After Hours Til Dawn Tour

Bespoke industrial design for elite touring musicians and audiophiles

The Spark:
Designing for world-class musicians meant creating tools they could depend on night after night, and pieces that reflected their identity.

The Challenge:
Each artist brought a different vision to the table. Some wanted minimalism, others brought wild references, from skulls and flames to personal tattoos and stage themes.

The Journey:
I built trust through quick turn sketches, 3D mockups, and on the fly adjustments, treating each monitor like a personal canvas, while ensuring comfort, manufacturability, and audio performance.

The Impact:
These pieces weren’t just gear, they became a part of the artist’s identity on stage. A showpiece. A secret weapon. A signature.

The Weeknd - Diamond XO

The Weeknd had a vision, XO branded monitors with platinum and diamonds, and he wanted them to feel just as personal as they were iconic. I worked directly with him and his go to jeweler Eliantte, turning early sketches into a fully custom build. From overnighting 3D prints for fit approval to personally picking up the finished platinum plates, I handled every detail to make sure the final set was museum quality and performance ready.

Billy Strings - 33

Billy gave me a list of colors and materials he loved, and from that conversation, I designed a pair of IEMs that felt like a tribute to his sound and his story. The shells were CNC machined from custom black pearl and topped with opal faceplates, echoing the inlays on his Thompson guitar. To honor his grandfather’s racing legacy, I illustrated a custom skeleton portrait of Billy wearing sunglasses, each lens reflecting a “3” to form the number 33. That illustration, complete with his left arm holding a stylized guitar and signature joint, was engraved across mirrored sterling silver faceplates using a fiber laser, designed to align perfectly when the monitors are placed side by side.

Duff McKagan - Copper Patina

When Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses asked for custom in-ears and gave me full creative freedom as long as his skull and crossbones logo made an appearance, I knew it was the perfect time to bring a long held idea to life. I CNC machined his shells from a custom copper flake material designed to naturally patina over time, then laser-engraved solid copper faceplates with mirrored versions of his logo. From there, I carefully “grew” a bold green patina in recessed pockets around the engraving, creating a gritty, oxidized texture that matched the swirls in the shells. The final result, polished copper logos emerging from a hand-cultivated patina, a truly one-of-a-kind finish worthy of a legend.

Miley Cyrus - Bad Karma

For her Bad Karma tour, Miley came to us with a bold concept, she didn’t want traditional faceplates, she wanted wearable art. Taking her original sketch of a heart pierced by a dagger and wrapped in lyric filled banners, I translated the 2D design into a detailed 3D model. The final pendants were laser carved in relief from solid metal, using a subtractive engraving process that built depth with each pass. The result was a pair of custom medallions, mounted like jewelry onto her IEMs, striking, symbolic, and completely one-of-a-kind.
